like a flagpole
posed its faces

ಎರಡುಮುಖ

ಆನಾಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆಎರಡುಮುಖಗಳು
ಇರುವುದಂತೂ ಸತ್ಯ.
ರಾಜ-ರಾಣಿ ಆಟಕ್ಕೆ
ಆಯ್ಕೆಯ ಗೊಂದಲ ನಿವಾರಣೆಗೆ
ಒದಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆನಾಣ್ಯದ
ಎರಡು ಮುಖಗಳು ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು-
ಸಯಾಮಿ ಅವಳಿಗಳಂತೆ-
ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಒಂದರ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವ ಇರುವುದೇ ಇನ್ನೊಂದರ ಇರುವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ

ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಜೇಬಿಂದ ಠಣ್ಣೆಂದೆಗರಿದ ನಾಣ್ಯ
ಹೊರಗುರುಳಿ ನಿಂತಿದೆ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಗರುಡಗಂಭದಂತೆ
ಒಂದು ಮುಖ ಉತ್ತರಕೆ
ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಮುಖ
ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೆ- ಕ್ಷಿತಿಜದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು
ನಡುವೆ ನಿಂತಿದೆ ಲೋಹದ ಗೋಡೆ
ಎಂದೆಂದೂ ಒಂದಾಗದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ.
ಮುಖಗಳೆರಡೂ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗದೆ
ಎರಡಾಗಿಯೇ ಉಳಿಯುವ
ಕಠೋರ ವಾಸ್ತವದ ಸ್ಥಿರ ಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ.
