ತಲೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಬೆರಳುಗಳಿಂದ
ತಡಕಿ ತಡಕ ಹೇನು ಹೆಕ್ಕಿ
ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ
ಆಗ ಅದೇನೋ ಅಕ್ಷರ ವಲ್ಲದ
ಸ್ವರ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ
ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸಾರಿ ಅರ್ಥಕ್ಕಾಗಿ
ಹುಡುಕಿ ಸೋತಿದ್ದೇನೆ
ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ

ನೀನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ
ಸಂಗತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ
ದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ

ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಹಿಸಿ
ಕೊಂಡೆ ಅವ್ವ
ನಿನ್ನ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕಣ್ಣೀರ
ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ
ನಾನು ಬಿಕ್ಕಿ ಬಿಕ್ಕಿ ಅತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ

ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಉಪ್ಪು ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಆಗಿದೆ
ಯಾಕೆಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದಲೇ
ಮುಂಗೈಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಳು
ಅತ್ತೆ
ಸುಟ್ಟ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೆ
ನನ್ನ ಕರುಳು ಕಿವಿಚಿ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ
ಬಂದಂತಾಗಿತ್ತು

ಆಸ್ತಿ ಮನೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಇದ್ದರೂ
ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ಯಿಲ್ಲದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು
ಸವೆಸಿದೆ
ನಿನ್ನ ಆಸೆ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆ ಗಳೆಲ್ಲ
ಚಿಂತೆಯ ಚಿಂತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಯ್ತು
ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರಿನ ಅಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋದವು

ಅವ್ವ ನಾನೀಗ ಬೆಳೆದು ದೊಡ್ಡ
ವಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ
ನೌಕರಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ
ಕೈ ತುಂಬ ಸಂಬಳ
ನಿನ್ನ ಬರಿದಾದ ಮೂಗು ಕಿವಿ
ಕೈಗೆ
ವಜ್ರದ ಮೂಗುತಿ ಓಲೆ ಕಡಗ
ಕೊಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ
ಆದರೆ…ಆದರೆ….ಈಗ
ನೀನಿಲ್ಲ ಅವ್ವ … ನೀನಿಲ್ಲ

What all is hidden in your heart !

I was laying my head on your lap

Your fingers were searching lice in

my head and killing them one by one

your were murmuring some words

which I could not catch up with and

struggled a lot to understand, but failed.

The facts and issues that you had told me

If I could remember them

each one would have become

a collection of a Great book today

Just because the curry was a little bit salty

my mother in law put a burn line from the fire stick

on my fore hand , when I showed the burnt mark

out of pain , your tummy seemed to be squeezed

out of your mouth

Though I had money and wealth

I passed my days restlessly

All your sweet dreams were

burnt to ashes in your death

in a deep sigh all were slushed

Mother, now I have grown up

I even got a job and earn a handful

I wanted to buy you a Diamond nose ring,

earrings , a bracelet for your bare ears and hands

but to adorn it your are not there
