ಅದು ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ಪಂಚಾಯತಿ ಬಾವಿ ಇನ್ನೂ
ನೀರಿತ್ತೆನ್ನುವ ಕುರುಹೆಲ್ಲಿ ?
ಹುಡುಕುವ ಕಣ್ಣೆವೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧ
ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾದರೂ ಏನು
ಬಿಸಿಲ ಧಗೆಗೆ ರಿವರ್ಸ್‌ಗೇರ್ ಹಾಕಿದ
ಭಯದ ಬೆವರ ಹನಿ
ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೀಗ ಜಡಿದು
ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ಜಲರಾಶಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಂಡೆ
ಕಣ್ಣ ಹನಿ, ಬೆವರ ಹನಿ
ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಕಣ್ಣು
ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲು ಅರಸಿ
ಎಡವಿದ ಕಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ರಕ್ತದೋಕುಳಿ
ಆಕಾಶದ ಹೃದಯ ಕಲ್ಲಾಗಿದೆ
ಪಾದಪಗಳೂ ಚಲನ ಹೀನ
ನದಿಯ ಬೆಸುಗೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಿರಸ
‌ನರರ ವಿಲಾಸಿ ಜೀವನ
ಈಗ ಸಣಕಲಾದ ಇಳೆ
ಒಗಟು ಮಾತ್ರ
ಬಾವಿಯ ಎಡಭಾಗದ ಮೂರನೆಯ
ಒಣಗಿದ ಗದ್ದೆ ನಕ್ಕು ಹೇಳಿದೆ

That is a fourth well digged by a council
But where is the trace of water,
Searched the batting eyelids.
What’s the use of moving forward,
When unable to bear the heat
The fearfull sweat drops
Applied the reverse gear.

Locked the eyes to see the
Aquatic treasure once I had seen.
The sweat and teardrops mixed up
And opened the eyes
That searched for hailstones,
But stumbled on a parched rock
To bathe it in blood.

The stone hearted sky,the still flora
The dried river bed are all the gifts
Of the luxurious life of the man.
Now the thinning earth is just a riddle
Said the third parched field
On the left side of the well ,with a grin.
