ಬೇಲಿ

ಬೇಲಿ ಹಾಕಲೇಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು

ಬಹುದಿನದ ಕನಸು

ಹಾಗೆ,ಹೀಗೆ 

ಬೇಕಾದ ಸರಕು ಜೋಡಣೆ,

ಭರದ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ

ನಮ್ಮದೇ ಭದ್ರತೆಯ ಕೋಟೆಗೆ

ಅದೆಂತ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ

ಸಂಧಿ,ಗೊಂಧಿಗಳಲೂ ಹಾವು,ಜಂತೂ

ನುಸುಳದಂತೆ ಗಿಡ ನೆಟ್ಟು

ಬೇಲಿಯಲೂ ಹೂಗಳ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ.

ಕನಸಿನಂತೆ ಮೊಗ್ಗು 

ಬಿರಿದೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದಲ್ಲ

ಅವು

ಆರಂಭ ಶೂರತ್ವ ಗಿಡವಿರಬೇಕು

ಅರಳಿ ಉದುರಿದ ಬೀಜ

ಚಿಗುರಲೇಕೋ ಆಕಳಿಸಿ

ಎದುರಿದ್ದ ಬೇಲಿಯಲಿ

ನಳ ನಳಿಸಿದ ನೀಲಿ ಹೂವಲಿ

ಬಿದ್ದ ಕಣ್ಣ ಕೀಳಲಾಗದೆ

ಝೇಂಕರಿಸುವ ಹುನ್ನಾರ

ಕನಸಿನ ಬೇಲಿ ಸೊರಗಿ

ಕೊರಡಾಗುವುದನೊಪ್ಪದೆ

ಕೊನರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹಠಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು

ಹನಿಸಿದಷ್ಟೂ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕೊಳವಲ್ಲ

ಕಡಲು.

ಬೇಲಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಅಂತರದ ಬಿರುಕು

ಸಲಗ ಪಳಗಿಸುವಂತೆ 

ಕಾಷ್ಠ ಪಲ್ಲವಿಸಲು ಹೈರಾಣು.

ಮಳೆ ಹೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಈಗ 

ಹೊಸ ಭರವಸೆಯ ಬೀಜ 

ತಂದಿರಿಸಿರುವೆ

ತಡ ಮಾಡದೆ ಬೇಲಿಗುಂಟ

ಬಿತ್ತಬೇಕಿದೆ.

               A FENCE

Since ages,
Dreamt of building a fence,
Around our own castle.
Desparately collected,
This and that and
Whatever needed,
With such
A vigour and speed.

Even the smallest of gaps
Were filled with plants,
For not to let any snake
Or a tiny worm to creep in.

The buds did bloom,
As I had dreamt,
Every plant at first
Blossomed,
Like a new knight,
Ready to fight.
But the seed from the pod,
Yawned to sprout.
  
Then could not
Take the eyes off
A beaming blue flower
On the opposite fence
A plot started to buzz.

As my fence of dreams
Can’t be seen so dried.
Eyes shed to fill
Not only ponds
But oceans.
Then determined
To bring
Back to life 
All the sprigs dried.

Struggling off to fill
The gaps of fence,
Like fighting  to tame
A wild elephant.

Now, it has started
To rain again,
Have bought some
Seeds of hope,
To sow along the line 
Of the fence of mine.
