ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮೂಲ: – ಡಾ.ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಕುಂಜಿಬೆಟ್ಟು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷಿಗೆ:ಪಂ. ರವಿಕಿರಣ್ ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ನನ್ನ  ಮನದಲ್ಲೆಷ್ಟೋ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿವೆ ಬಿಡಿಸ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವು ಹಾಳೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಜೀವ ಹೆಣಗಳಂತೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬೀಳುತ್ತವೆ ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವು ಬೆನ್ನಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಜಿರಳೆಗಳಂತೆ ಅಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿಕೈಕಾಲಾಡಿಸುತ್ತ ಕಪ್ಪು ಕಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ಇನ್ನಾರದ್ದೋ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಬದುಕುತ್ತ  ಕೆಂಪು ಕೆಂಪಾದ ಹಸಿಗಾಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರ್ಯಾರೋ ಗೀರಿದಂತೆ ನೆತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿತೊಯ್ದಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಬದುಕಿನತಿಪ್ಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಬಿಸಾಕಿದ ಎಂಜಲು ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಚ್ಚಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಹಸಿವಲ್ಲಿ ಲೋಕ ಕಾಣದೆ ಇನ್ನಾರದ್ದೋ ಹಸಿದ ಮುಖವನ್ನೇ ಹಸಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೆಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ ಒಡಲ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುತಿನ್ನಲು ಕೈಚಾಚುತ್ತ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಅಂಟಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೇ ಆಗಿ ಇನ್ನಾರದ್ದೋ ತುತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವು ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನೇ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೆಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೇ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ ರಾಹು…ಚಂದ್ರನನ್ನೇರಾವುಹಿಡಿದಂತೆ ನುಂಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಅವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಳೆಮೊಳೆಗೆ ತೂಗು ಹಾಕಿದ ಹೊಸ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ ಕಪ್ಪು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು  ಕಪ್ಪು ಮಣ್ಣಲಿ ಹೂತು ಬಿಳಿಹತ್ತಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬತ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಹಣತೆ ಹಚ್ಚುತ್ತವೆ ಬಿಳಿಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಬಿಳಿಗಂಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ಅಸ್ಥಿವಿಸರ್ಜಿಸಿ  ಕಾಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಂಡಕಾಯುತ್ತವೆ ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಹಾಳೆಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದೊಡನೆ ಹೃದಯದ ತೊಟ್ಟಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಆಸೆಯ ಮೊಗ್ಗನ್ನುಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಹುಳುಹಿಡಿದ ದಾಸವಾಳ ಗಿಡದಂತೆ ಮುರುಟಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನ ಝಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಡಿಹೋದ ಕುಂಬಳದ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಂತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮರವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತ ಬೇಡದ ಬಸಿರು ಹೊತ್ತು ತೆವಳುತ್ತವೆ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸುಟ ಕೂಸುಗಳು ಗಂಟಲಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲಗೆ ಇಡದೆ ಬೆಕ್ಕಿನಂತೆ ಅಳುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಭಗ್ನಗೊಂಡ ನಗ್ನ ಶಿಲ್ಪಗಳು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ದೇಹದ  ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೇ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತ ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ಜಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ನಗುವನ್ನು ನಗುತ್ತವೆ ಅವನು ಆ ದೇವರೆಂಬವನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿದ ಈ ನನ್ನಂತೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಳೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಬಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೇ ಎದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಭೂಮಿಯಿದು ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಮನೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ ತಮ್ಮದು ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲೆಂದೇ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ತಮ್ಮದೆಂದುಕೊಂಡೇ ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ಇನ್ನಾರದ್ದೋ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ ಹಾಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಷ್ಟಿಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಮನೆ ಬಣ್ಣ ಪೇಲವವಾಗಿ ಬಿಳಿಚಿ ಹಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದ ಮುದುಕನಂತೆ ಬೊಚ್ಚುಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಆ ಎಂದುತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆಗಸವನ್ನೇ ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಸರಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಒಟ್ಟೆ ಕಂಗಳಿಂದ… ನೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೂನ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಇವೆಲ್ಲದರ ಗೋಜೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಮಗು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ ಹಾಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೀಚುತ್ತ ಬಣ್ಣತುಂಬುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ ನೇತು ಹಾಕಿದ ಲಾಂಟಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಕಪ್ಪು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹಣ್ಣಿನಂತಹ ಕಂಗಳಿಂದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳು ಉದುರಿ ಹಾಳೆಯ ತುಂಬ ನಕ್ಕು ಕತ್ತಲನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ ಅದರ ಪುಟ್ಟಚಿಗುರು ಬೆರಳುಗಳು ಎಳೆಯುವ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಮೂಡುವ ಕಣ್ಣುಜೀವತುಂಬುತ್ತದೆ ಗಿಡ ಮರ ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಹೂವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿ ಆಗಸವನ್ನೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಯಂತೆರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ. ಅವು ದೇವರೊಡನೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. *** The pictures There are numourous Pictures in my mind If I try to sketch them They fall upside down On the sheets A few like cocroaches Fell on their back Helplessly move their Limbs and gaze the moon With dark eyes The pictures of my mind Live lives that do not Belong to them but Somebody else And are soaked with Blood as if a fresh wound Has been scraped by Someone My mind’s pictures  Squabble for left out Food in the garbage Of life Desperate with hunger Delude somebody’s face As Roti Extend their hands To catch it and roast it In the fire of the body And to eat A few delude their Faces as Rotis And pull them inside the Stomach Like the moon devoured By Rahu But he laughs in the New calendar hanged By a old nail Black pictures Are seeded in black earth White cotton grows And becomes a whip That lightens the Lamp of devotion White pictures drown In the white Ganges Discard their corporeal Remnants and become Crows waiting for the Pinda in Mahalaya The pictures of my mind As they fall on a sheet Carry a bud of desire In the foot stalk Of the heart Shrivel like a hibiscus Plant eaten by worms Like a pumpkin creeper Withered in the hot son Do fruitless efforts To embrace the tree And crawl carrying Unwanted womb The infants thrown to Streets weep relentlessly Like cats Broken naked sculptures Search their broken Limbs within themselves Smile somebody else’s Smile at somebody else’s Festival Like me who has been Painted by someone Knows as god My mind’s pictures also Fall and Scatter on sheets And get up Deluding the sheet As their earth Build castles Give birth to Children and Grand children And live life that Is not theirs but Someone else’s And at the end Leave the earth that is Not theirs The tight fisted home Drwan on the sheet Gets faded and bleached And gazes the sky Like an old man With teethless mouth And with a sight Of emptiness Regardless of the above A child at the corner Of my mind Is talking to itself And scribbling the sheet And filling colors In the light of the lantern Stars drop from its black Grape eyes On the sheet and laugh And embody the Darkness The pictures drawn by Its tender fingers get an Eye somewhere That fills life to them Plants, trees, creepers, Flowers gaze the heaven With life Extend their wings like A bird and Converse with god *************************
